Gas Safety Certificates

There are many different types of gas safety certificate that can be issued. Many of them are done when a gas appliance is installed. When most people enquire about a “gas safety certificate” it relates to annual safety checks.

Having a gas safety certificate issued annually for gas appliances is a legal requirement for landlords of residential rented properties. This certificate is referred to as a Gas Safety Record (CP12). Annual safety checks must be carried out by a qualified Gas Safe registered engineer.

An annual Gas Safety Record (CP12) ensures gas appliances at a property comply with UK gas safety regulations. We believe customers should be provided with a more detailed assessment of their boiler beyond standard safety checks to highlight any possible problems.

Customer reviews

  • Arrived on time (after calling beforehand) and serviced our gas fire. He explained a couple of helpful things I didn’t know and left me with a signed gas safety record. I feel much happier the fire has been properly serviced and wouldn’t hesitate to use Aspect again.

  • When I complain I complain. When I praise I praise... So I just want you to know that I was very happy with today's visit from Rafal your gas engineer. He was polite, extremely quick in resolving the problem and explained things very clearly. I felt confident in him and hope that he'll be able to attend to any future works we do with Aspect.

Extra boiler checks included

An annual Gas Safety Record (CP12) is performed on all appliances connected to a single gas supply. This includes the gas meter, boiler, cooker(s), hob(s), fire(s) and any other connected gas appliances.

Whenever an Aspect gas engineer carries out a Gas Safety Record (CP12) an extra five checks will be done on the boiler with the aim of helping to keep it working trouble-free for longer: –

  • Boiler control function
  • Leaks and corrosion
  • Visual inspection of pipework

Annual servicing

Boiler manufacturers each have their own warranty conditions. An annual Gas Safety Record (CP12) is not always enough to satisfy these conditions. Instead they stipulate how the boiler must be serviced.

We can service your boiler in accordance with manufacturer guidelines. We offer a combined Gas Safety Record (CP12) and service visit package.
