Roofing safety

All of our tradesmen carry CSCS (Construction Skills Certificate Scheme) cards showing they’ve received the appropriate level of health and safety training. Before work can be started at a property we must carry out safety checks to ensure all necessary precautions are in place whilst working at height.

The majority of jobs that we attend require a two man team of roofers. The obligations of a roofing contractor to conduct work safely include: –

  • Use of ladder stays
  • Tying off ladders
  • Ladders not obstructing access points
  • Working in suitable weather conditions
  • Not working on fragile roofs
  • Providing risk assessments and method statements
