Customer reviews

  • Professional, timely and helpful service! The carpenter arrived within an hour of me calling on a Saturday evening and sorted my front door for me the same night. Would highly recommend.

  • I really struggled to find someone to fix my shop's sash window. It's a tricky job because it's an old model, with parts that are not easy to replace. Aspect were very prompt to take the job, and they completed efficiently and without a fuss.

Fitting a new wooden door needs experience

Wooden doorframes, especially in older properties, are rarely completely straight and square. Over time, the small movements within the structure of a building result in doorframes becoming bowed.

New wooden doors have straight edges so fitting them correctly to a frame that’s uneven takes knowledge and skill. Accurate measurements of the door and frame allow our experienced carpenters to plane a door so that it fits perfectly.

Inconsistent gaps will be present if a door isn’t planed correctly. Not only will this look unsightly but it can also create unnecessary draughts, which can mean higher energy bills than are necessary.

Although a good handyman can fit door handles, latches and other door furniture, we recommend using the skills of an experienced carpenter to fit a new wooden door. Our carpenters can also make repairs to damaged doorframes or fit a completely new frame.

Our guarantee and accreditations

We’re fully trade accredited. Aspect is a member of The Guild of Master Craftsmen, the Federation of Master Builders and the Glass and Glazing Federation.

We’re also members of FENSA, the UK’s largest and longest established Competent Person Scheme within the replacement window and door industry. This means we are able to fit windows and doors and self-certify the work in accordance with relevant Building Regulations.
