Condensation inside double glazed windows

If you have condensation on the inside of your double glazed windows, it means there is a fault with them and they need repairing. Condensation is caused when warm humid air comes into contact with a cold surface. The cooling of the air reduces the amount of water it can hold. This results in small droplets of water forming on the glass.

The space between the panes of a double glazed window should be completely sealed. This space is usually filled with gases, such as argon, krypton or nitrogen, when the windows are manufactured. These gases increase the thermal efficiency (U-value) of the window.

If air has got between the two panes of glass it means the seal has failed. The gases will have escaped and the window is no longer providing the insulating benefits it’s supposed to. Unfortunately the only option to fix this problem is to replace the unit.

One of our glazing experts can visit your property and collect all the information needed to have a replacement unit made. You’ll be given a fixed price quote that’ll cover manufacture of the unit plus the installation of it. The process usually takes between 3 to 5 days.
