Water Softener Installation For Home and Businesses

If you want a way to combat the effects of hard water, we can help. Our water softener installers can recommend the ideal make and model for your property, then carry out all plumbing work to ensure it does its job effectively. They can answer any questions you have and explain how your new system works. Call us for installation and advice that’s personalised to you, from trusted installers serving London and the Home Counties.

We’ll evaluate your property’s water quality, consider your budget, and recommend either a single or twin tank system to suit your water usage needs.

Installing salt-based water softeners

Our water softener installers recommend salt-based units, rather than the electronic models with cables that wrap around the water supply pipe. We aren’t aware of tests that prove the extent to which these devices help to reduce scale build up.

The salt-based systems function through a process of ‘ion exchange’; resin beads in the tank collect the minerals that cause hard water and limescale build up.

The water softener then ‘regenerates’ by removing the minerals collected and flushing the wastewater into the drains. Most systems regenerate every two weeks, but it depends on the system you own and your water usage. A single tank system won’t provide softened water during the short time in which it’s regenerating, but twin tank systems can.

Keeping your drinking water separate

Our water softener installers can connect a drinking water bypass tap when they fit a water softener. This means you can still choose to drink unsoftened water from the mains supply. For more information about whether or not you can drink softened water, and to get answers to the most frequently asked questions, please see our water softener knowledge article.
