EV Charger Installation For Homes and Businesses

Before every EV charger installation, we conduct a site survey. Then we provide a scope of work and a fixed price estimate.

If you have already bought an electric vehicle charging unit, we can connect it to a power supply or help you choose one.

Whether you have a wall-mounted or a free-standing unit, our experts can install any type of EV charger. We install home charging units and public charging units at commercial properties.

Our EV charger installation services

A thorough investigation of your property will highlight the specific requirements for the work.

How much does it cost to install an EV charger?

Although some EV charger units can cost over £1,000 each, a budget of £500-£700 is usually sufficient.

The installation cost is determined by two main factors. Firstly, whether a new circuit can be installed on the existing consumer unit. Secondly, how much cabling is required and whether groundwork is needed to bury the cable.

Cabling

Running a new circuit from a consumer unit with surface-mounted cable to the chargepoint, a short distance, usually takes around 4 hours. This will increase significantly if cable needs to be buried rather than being surface-mounted.

Consumer unit

If the existing consumer unit is insufficient or lacks capacity for a new circuit, it will need to be replaced. This will add significantly to the total cost.

Fixed-price

Our electrician can provide a detailed cost for an EV charger installation following an assessment visit.

For home occupiers

The following people can claim up to 75% of the cost of purchasing and installing a charge point. You can get up to £500 if you meet each of the following conditions:

  • You live in a flat that you own, or you rent a property
  • Your home has its own off-street parking space

You can check your eligibility status on the Government’s EV chargepoint page. You will also need permission to install a chargepoint from the property’s freeholder or management company.
