Frequently asked questions

How quickly can an emergency plumber come?

We aim to have an emergency plumber at your property within 1 hour of your booking.

Inform our Customer Service staff member that you have an emergency and ask them to confirm whether a quick response is possible. They will be able to provide an approximate arrival time.

How much does an emergency plumber cost?

Our emergency plumber services are charged in half-hourly increments. Rates depend on the time and day of the attendance, and start from:

  • £42.75 + VAT for a weekday
  • £56.25 + VAT for an evening or weekend
  • £72.00 + VAT for a late night

Use our postcode checker for our lowest rate in your area. There is a minimum 1-hour charge. We do not charge extra for an emergency plumber call.

How can I temporarily stop a pipe leak?

If you have a burst or leaking water pipe inside your property, you can temporarily stop it by following these simple steps:

  1. Locate your internal stop valve and turn it off to prevent more water from entering the system.
  2. Typically, this is done by turning it clockwise.
  3. Turn on the taps in the kitchen and/or bathroom sinks to quickly drain the remaining water in the system. This should temporarily stop the leak.
  4. Turn the kitchen and/or bathroom taps off again.
  5. Call for an emergency plumber.

What counts as emergency plumbing?

Plumbing problems that are considered an emergency typically cover issues including:

  1. Water damage: Where a property is or potentially suffering significant water damage, or flooding, as a result of a burst pipe or leak.
  2. No water supply: This could be as a result of a complete rupture in an underground water supply pipe.
  3. Blocked drains: If water fixtures, such as toilets or wash basins, can not be used due to a risk of overflow or flooding, or if soil water drains are already flooded.
  4. No heating or hot water: A boiler issue, an electrical problem, or a water supply issue could be causing the hot water supply to stop.

At Aspect, if it’s an emergency for you, it’s an emergency for us too, and we will schedule an emergency plumber immediately.
