Frequently asked questions

How quickly can an emergency engineer come?

We aim to have an emergency gas engineer at your property within 1 hour of your booking.

Inform our Customer Service staff member that you have an emergency and ask them to confirm whether a quick response is possible. They will be able to provide an approximate arrival time.

How much does an emergency gas engineer cost?

Our emergency services are charged in half-hourly increments. Rates depend on the time and day of the attendance, and start from:

  • £49.50 + VAT for a weekday
  • £65.25 + VAT for an evening or weekend
  • £85.50 + VAT for a late night

Use our postcode checker for our lowest rate in your area. There is a minimum 1-hour charge. We do not charge extra for an emergency call.

What counts as an emergency?

Gas and heating problems that are considered an emergency typically cover issues including:

  1. Gas leak: This requires immediate attendance to have the gas supply turned off.
  2. Carbon monoxide: If a CO alarm has sounded, or carbon monoxide is suspected, a Gas Safe engineer should be called straightaway after turning gas appliances off and ventilating the property by opening windows.
  3. Boiler breakdown: A boiler issue, an electrical problem, or a water supply issue could cause the hot water supply and heating in a property to stop.
  4. Boiler pressure loss: Safety measures on modern boilers mean an automated shut-off when the system pressure is too low. A Gas Safe engineer should be called to investigate.
  5. Radiator circulation failure: Dirty systems, air locks, valve, or pump problems could be responsible for radiators failing to heat up.
  6. Flue damage: A blocked, disconnected, or broken boiler flue could allow dangerous gases to enter a property.

At Aspect, if it’s an emergency for you, it’s an emergency for us too, and we will schedule an emergency gas engineer immediately.
