aspect.co.uk to provide live Olympic travel updates on Thu 26th July, 2012
Live traffic information in London during the Olympics Games will be provided by London-based property maintenance and refurbishment company, aspect.co.uk.
The firm has launched a special page on its site: http://www.aspect.co.uk/olympictraffic/ which will provide a live travel feed each day based on updates provided by its team of 150 or so engineers travelling around fixing London’s maintenance issues.
Managing director William Davies said that the company wanted to help people get around during an exciting, but very busy, period in the capital.
“With such a large number of vehicles and engineers on the road 24/7, we are in a unique position to gain a real insight into what is happening when it comes to the traffic situation across the capital,” he said.
“We have all heard about the potential chaos when it comes to traffic during The Games, and it is for that reason we thought our engineers could provide useful insight throughout this period.”
To help ensure that aspect.co.uk completes its work on time as usual during The Games, aspect.co.uk is assigning a separate driver to accompany each engineer on a job. Where access is restricted, drivers will make their way on foot and then be collected by the extra driver when a job is finished.
“Public transport will be busy during The Games, and for that reason it’s likely that a lot of people will try to travel by car – congesting London’s roads even more than usual,” said Davies.
“We want to help our customers, other tradespeople and Londoners in general, to avoid any traffic hotspots and plan their journeys accordingly. We’re determined to offer the best possible service during The Games. “
